The Artist

A performance in which I explored the similarities between an artist and a clown. I met this women clown at a restaurant and found out where she bought her supplies and what animals she knew how to make. I gave myself a week to learn how to make animal balloons and I entertained college students at USC.

Bathe

A twenty-minute performance that involved my peers bathing me. I became my grandmother who had dementia and could no longer care for herself. I wanted to understand her so I did a series of performances where I became her.

Death

A video of myself playing my grandmother in a telenovela in which she is the star character and dies. My grandmother often confused her life with Mexican telenovelas. The video is made up of clips of me dying in a hospital, intercut clips from novelas.

Birth

Since i did the death novela I wanted to do create my grandmothers birth, so I imagined what her birth would have been like if it were a telenovela. So here i play my great grandmother giving birth to my grandmother.

Hour of the Star

During a gallery opening I performed for three hours as my grandmother who had dementia. I reenacted what I imagined her last day in her bedroom was like. Which consisted of watching myself die on television. The performance ended when i made my way outside the gallery and around the block unnoticed.

Rebirth

After many performances in which I become my grandmother, I felt as though I needed to be reborn. In this performance I drowned myself as my grandmother and after sometime i woke up, took off her nightgown walked across campus until i reached my clothes, i put them on and was myself again...

I began buying vintage diaries from eBay written by women and recreating significant moments from different entries, by becoming the women using Method Acting techniques.

Stranger in the Night

I started collecting an reading romance novels. I did a series of photographic performances in which I became the lead character and placed myself in similar situations as the characters faced in order to fully experience the novels.

A video series I started about celebrity obsession. I posted the video on the bands website and I plan on continuing the series.
